We are currently looking for Mission Volunteers!

BPC outreach with the community around us is growing!  The Mission Committee is looking for congregational members who have a passion for putting faith into action through mission.

Mission Organizers facilitate volunteers within our congregation for specific ongoing missions.  For example, we are looking for a new Organizer to support our ongoing commitment to serve meals at the New Horizons Soup Kitchen.

Mission Partner Coordinators manage the relationship with one or more of the many community service organizations we partner with, with the objective of remaining informed and helping BPC discern ways we can best be of support.  For example, we are now looking for Coordinators to manage our relationship with Families In Transition and Catholic Charities.

Neither of these roles require that you attend monthly Mission Committee meetings, although periodic attendance for significant changes or needs would be helpful.

Mission Volunteers are always needed as well. If you simply want to stay informed of outreach opportunities, or are involved in community services that you would like to share with your BPC family, let us know.

If you have any interest, or would just like to learn more, please contact the Mission Committee at mission@bedfordpresbyterian.org.

CareGivers Inc.

BPC delivers groceries for CareGivers Inc. CareGivers Inc. provides service to individuals who may not receive aid through the human service system and do not qualify for government–assisted programs. They also provide service to those individuals who may be receiving assistance from other agencies, but have additional needs which have gone unmet. We usually need 10 teams (20 volunteers). If you haven't done it before, it's delivering small bags of groceries to 3 or 4 elderly or disabled people in and around Manchester. CareGivers provides the name address, phone numbers and directions. They are usually grouped close together.

Tutors Needed!

As part of our Covid-19 ministry, the BPC Mission Committee has been supporting Amoskeag Health, one of our Adopt-A-Family partners. Formerly known as Manchester Community Health Services, Amoskeag Health is a non-profit community healthcare services provider in Manchester.

With the start of school in the midst of a pandemic, there is an emerging and urgent need to help students, in a variety of ways. Amoskeag Health is anticipating an growing need for tutors, and is gearing up to coordinate volunteers to meet the need.

With this announcement, the BPC Mission Committee is now recruiting tutors from the congregation of Bedford Presbyterian Church. In addition to Amoskeag Health, we are beginning to hear of potential tutoring needs from our contacts in the Bedford School system.

If you are interested in learning more about being a tutor, please reach out to Jack Daly or Larry Cowen, contact the church office, or email Mission@bedfordpresbyterian.org.
