Making BPC a Beneficiary

Psalm 100 reminds us that God’s purpose is one of “faithfulness to all generations.” As a reflection of God’s love and grace, we too, at BPC want to let our love endure forever and to be faithful to all generations.

As you look at ways to serve God and leave a lasting legacy, please consider designating BPC as a beneficiary on your IRA, 401(k), TSP, or 403(b). This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of your church – a gift that can enable BPC to share the good news with your children and your children’s children.

You can make BPC a partial or complete beneficiary of your account if it's an IRA, 401(k), TSP, or 403(b). Beneficiary designations can be made while you are alive to allocate the funds upon your death to any combination of beneficiaries. IRAs and employer-sponsored retirement accounts are ideal to fund these bequests because the withdrawal is income-tax free to BPC; BPC receives the funds within days after your death; and there are very low if any fees associated with the transfer. In addition, your estate will receive a deduction for the transfer at fair market value. To update your beneficiaries, request a change of beneficiary form from the financial institution that holds the assets, and choose the percentages to leave to your loved ones and charities such as BPC.
