Guest Preacher Bruce Olsen

This week we welcome BPC Member Bruce Olsen as our Guest Preacher for worship services this coming Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 10 AM.

Bruce grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts. He studied Mechanical Engineering at WPI and MIT and taught for a couple of years, then moved to NH, where he started a technology company in Manchester. Bruce managed the company for 15 years, sold the company then became CTO for another technology company. He has managed his family’s real estate development company in Florida for the last ten years.

Bruce and his wife Paula live in Bedford and have two grown children, Michaela and Molly, who live in New York and Massachusetts. Bruce enjoys puttering around the house, restoring old cars and machinery, trying to keep up with technology, skiing, and boating.

Bruce and Paula joined Bedford Presbyterian Church 30 years ago. Bruce is an Elder and was chair of the Personnel, Adult Ministries, Planning, Nominating, and Finance committees. He was on the Pastor Nominating Committee that brought Karen Hagy to the church and Co-chaired the Pastor Nominating Committee for John Sawyer. He also served as Church Treasurer and Clerk of Session. He’s enjoyed being on several of BPC’s mission trips. Bruce has been on the Stewardship and Finance Committee for the last ten years and currently chairs the Memorial sub-committee of Stewardship and Finance.

Bruce really connects with the bible passage of Philippians 4:8 that was used as a centering scripture for BPC’s mission study several years ago: 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
