Grades 1 through 6 - The Old and the New Testament
This month children will continue to learn and review the main points of Bible stories from the New Testament as they explore the differences (and similarities) from the Old Testament. They will explore an introduction to Matthew 22:37-39 and John Baptizes Jesus. They continue to learn about the Word through pictures, skits, songs, verse memorization, prayers and more!
This month children will read and reflect Matthew 22:37-39
"He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Ponder ideas on how to love God. Ask if children have a best friend and how they spend time together. Do they spend a lot of time talking to each other? Talk about how kids can talk to God and share stories with God. Teach children about prayer and how prayers are a way to talk with God.
Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which will guard your hearts and minds.
Read and reflect Isaiah 41:10. Think about a time when you were afraid. What did you do? Did you pray?
"Do not be afraid for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you."
