Summer Mission Trip

During the pandemic small teams have gone to Maine, following strict pandemic protocols, to continue our support for the housing ministry of our long term partner, Mission At The Eastward (MATE).

This year, we are making plans to go again, anticipating the way will be clear and safe.

What:
Home repairs for people in need.  Painting, roof repair, porches, steps, ramps and simple interior and exterior. Community engagement and support.

When:
Summer of 2022 - dates coming soon!

Who:
Members, family, friends of BPC.

Where:
Central Maine, in and around Farmington

How:
If interested, or for more information - email mission@bedfordpresbyterian.org or reach out to anyone on the coordinating team – Larry Cowen, George Reese, Matt Bader, Beth Evarts, or Mark Myers.

Why:
The pandemic has greatly increased the need for help, but also has greatly reduced the volunteers required to meet the need.  BPC’s commitment to MATE has been foundational for our mission outreach for many years.  They need our support now more than ever.

Cost

The weekly cost of the trip (to be provided soon) covers food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks), lodging and travel to and from the worksites.  Sponsorships and payment plans are available.  Because meetings, trips and financial assistance are supported by mission trip funds, we ask all participants to assist with fundraising efforts, such as a bake sale, concert, carwashes or more.  It is our sincere hope that no one misses this opportunity to serve.  For those in need of financial assistance, you will be able to request assistance on the application form.
