Thanksgiving Baskets

| Volunteer

Each year at this time, the Deacons provide food to families in need within our community and beyond. As one of our major outreach events, we are thankful that many of you continue to commit to this vital ministry.

Our goal is to help provide 200+ families with a Thanksgiving meal that they may otherwise be unable to afford. Help us reach our goal by making a donation to the Deacon's Fund HERE.

There are three ways you can help this important ministry of our church succeed:

  1. You may make a financial contribution to the Deacon's Fund online HERE or in the form of a check made out to the Bedford Presbyterian Church Deacon’s Fund (sent to 4 Church Road, Bedford, NH 03110). You can choose to sponsor an entire $50 Thanksgiving basket as your donation, or any amount is welcome.
  2. You may shop for the Thanksgiving basket meal with the list of contents provided and then deliver it to the family's address personally, using all health precautions and keeping physically distant while wearing a mask. Email to your Deacon's today to get the shopping list.
  3. You may prefer to write a personal note on a card to be delivered to the family along with the gift card or food basket. These notecards will be available at the church office and must be returned by November 18.

This year, like last year, with the continuing challenges of the COVID 19 virus and now the Delta variant, we will be adjusting our plans to ensure the health and safety of all involved, including the families we serve and those who will be serving.

As such, the Deacons have developed a hybrid model similar to last year, providing participants three options to choose from, detailed below. This model will help us achieve our goal of feeding families who may be experiencing food insecurity during this time.

Seventy-five percent of the families will receive a $50 Market Basket gift certificate, and twenty-five percent will receive a food basket provided by a shopper who will deliver the basket personally.

If you have any questions about this year's plan and how you can help, please contact our Deacons (

Thank you for any support you can provide to this important ministry during this season of giving. Because of incredible donors like you, many families will not go hungry during Thanksgiving.

With deep appreciation,

Your BPC Deacons
