FALL Welcome Sunday is finally here!  Some churches call it “Rally Day” or “Promotion Sunday.”  Our church used to call it “In-Gathering Sunday”.

We changed it to FALL Welcome Sunday a few years ago, emphasizing the “ALL Welcome.”

This year, as we welcome all of you and all of our community to join in the life and ministry of Bedford Presbyterian Church, we are excited to kick off our 2024-2025 program year with a sermon series focusing on “The E-Word” – evangelism.  How do we share our faith in ways that are true and authentic to who we are and who God is calling us to be?  There are many ways to evangelize, and we will look at the example of St. Patrick and others like him.

There are some other things that we are kicking off, as well. . .

  • Children’s Sunday School and Youth Group Programs
  • Weekly Prayer Group – Mondays at 9:30-10 AM at BPC – A gathering to pray for the needs of our congregation, community, nation, and world.
  • Lunchtime Bible Basics – 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays at noon on Zoom and In-Person – A fun introduction to the Bible with no pre-assignments and no homework.
  • Feasting on the Word Sunday School – Starting October 4 at 9:00 AM at BPC and on Zoom – Gather before worship to go deeper into the scripture readings for each Sunday.
  • Faith and Fellowship Groups – These groups of 10-16 people meet monthly in people’s homes and are currently studying the Letter to the Philippians.
  • Matthew 25 Forums – TBA, Starting in October during Coffee Hour – All-church gatherings to learn about BPC’s scriptural and spiritual connections with caring for our community and world.
  • Tables of Eight Fellowship Meal – TBA in October – Fellowship opportunity to meet new people and draw closer together as a group.

In addition, BPC is a proud supporter of the New Hampshire Council of Churches and wants to make sure you know about the following NHCC Events:

  • Showing of Bad Faith (exploring the dangers of Christian Nationalism) on Tuesday, September 24 at 7 PM at Red River Theatres in Concord – FREE
  • “Granite State Jubilee – Featuring Liz Theoharis” on Saturday, October 19, at Wesley UMC in Concord from 9 AM to 12 PM – FREE

There is much more to come from BPC, but this is a pretty good start! I am so proud and thankful of our congregation and its desire to grow in faith, fellowship, and service!

See you in church!

Grace and Peace,

John
