Church School and COVID-19
Every family is struggling with finding a new normal during this time. Your church family is here to support you and help you maintain the connections to a wider community. Each week your church school teachers will put together a packet with a lesson that you can do at home. We are also working as a committee to find more ways to help keep your kids connected to the their church friends - old and young. We love you, we miss you and we look forward to being together again.

How Church School Normally Works!
Hello and Welcome! Let's start at the beginning! We want all children and youth to be registered in our programming every year so that we have all the important information we need to not only help our kids grow in faith but to keep them well and safe! Please register your child or youth before the service on the morning of InGathering Sunday or when dropping your child off for the first time at Church School.
Registration is available online. Follow the link to the Registration page. If you have not completed the registration form before the first church school class, you will be required to accompany your child(ren) and fill out the form at the time your child or youth participates.
Church School is offered during the 10 am worship service. Children depart the Sanctuary with their teachers following the children’s message. We invite you (or another authorized adult) to pick them up promptly following the Benediction so their teachers can enjoy fellowship too!
The first Sunday of every month all our children ages 3 and up will enjoy a music and worship themed class led by Melinda Chen. Then they will return up to the Sanctuary to participate in the sacrament of Communion with the congregation. If you do not feel your child is ready to participate in Communion they may return to sit with you during this portion of worship.
If someone other than those listed as “authorized” per the registration forms will be picking up your children, a note will be required, similar to the process followed in most schools. This is for the safety of our children.
In our Church School program, children explore Bible stories with their hands, hearts, minds, voices and spirits. Our hope is to build a wealth of bookmark Bible stories that will inspire our children's faith and that they will know and love them years to come!
Church School Offerings
Every Sunday, our spacious Nursery (located in the the lower level between the Elementary class and Noah's Ark) is available for infants and toddlers during 10 am hour.
Preschool aged children will also have Church School during the 10am worship service. They are welcome to join their friends in the newly renovated Noah's Ark in the lower level after the Children's Message. Our Preschool classes introduce young children to the love of God through simple interactive lessons. Please accompany your child to his/her classroom to help with the transition.
Elementary Class (K-2), will take place during the 10am service in the Elementary Classroom. We will be using a curriculum based on the lectionary readings used during the church service from Whole People of God.
Children in grades 3rd-5th are invited to join the lower elementary at the 10am hour during worship. Led by small team of teachers using the Whole People of God curriculum. The upper elementary class will meet in the Youth Activity Room.
Stewardship and Our Children
BPC's children also participate in stewardship projects thorughout the year and regular offerings are taken each Sunday where the children bring their gift to God and place it in the little church right before the children's message. In true Presbyterian fashion, they get to vote once a year where to send their offerings!
Safe Haven Policy
In order to ensure the safety of our children and youth, all workers and volunteers are screened to provide a Safe Haven. Please click on the link below for a copy of our Safe Haven Policy including the Agreement Form.
