Exciting news! The Bedford Lions Club, Bedford Presbyterian Church, and the Bedford High School Interact Club are joining forces to support local schools through a new Supplies for Success program. This initiative aims to provide teachers and students at Parker Varney and Bakersville Elementary Schools with essential classroom supplies and winter safety items.
Here are the collection dates and details:
- January 12: We will collect non-college-ruled notebooks.
- January 19: We will collect packs of new dry-erase markers.
- January 26: We will collect disinfectant wipes.
Collection Times:
- Sundays: 9 AM – 11 AM
- Weekdays: 9 AM – 4 PM
Please drop off your donations at Bedford Presbyterian Church in the main foyer, where you will find a marked collection bin near the Welcome Desk.
You can also coordinate drop-off dates and times directly with the Bedford High School Interact Club.
Each participating teacher will receive a curated classroom supply basket tailored to their needs. This coordinated effort will also initially provide winter clothing, essential hygiene items, and safety supplies for school social workers to distribute to classrooms with greater need.
On Saturday, February 1, from 12 PM to 4 PM, community volunteers will gather to inventory, collate, and create the personalized baskets. Volunteers will include Bedford Presbyterian Youth Group members and their families, Bedford High School Interact Club, Bedford Rotary Club, and Bedford Lions Club. Contributions from these organizations, local community members, and other associations will directly fund and support the classroom supply baskets and winter essentials.
