The Earth Care Congregation program is housed under the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and we believe that hunger, poverty, and environmental destruction are linked areas of concern, constantly interacting with, and impacting one another.

This distinction is extremely intentional and represents the commitment of many. Through the Solar Panel Initiative, which our congregation benefits from on so many levels, the commitment to being a Matthew 25 church is clear and significant. Being the hands and feet of Jesus can look many different ways, but this important distinction is one that shows that BPC cares tangibly for not just the people inside our four walls, but also for the land that holds them up.
If you would like to see the press release regarding this certification, you can find that here.
The Earth Care Congregation certification is designed to recognize churches that take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden, that is our shared common home.
