First, a “Hello!”. . .
Summer is a time of a lot of comings and goings and this week, I want to highlight a new arrival to our church staff!
Lynne Lorentsen has been hired to serve as our Interim Director of Communications, filling the big shoes left by Beth Evarts. This past week, Lynne spent time being brought up to speed on many of our procedures in the congregation around all-things communication and marketing. She comes into this role having served nonprofit and church organizations over many years. Lynne and her husband, Dave, have been visiting BPC on and off for the past three years and we are excited to formally welcome Lynne into this interim role.
Here’s a little bit more about Lynne from the church website:
Lynne lives with her husband, Dave, and their dog Delilah in Deerfield, NH, and together they have two phenomenal daughters. Across her career, Lynne served multiple nonprofit and church organizations where she organized volunteers, led adult programming, supported marginalized populations and traveled to Rwanda for community development initiatives. Lynne is focussed on clear communication, maintaining community network connections, and project management motivated by her heart for justice and connection. On a personal level, she loves reading, knitting, and volunteering as a Ballot Clerk for local elections in Deerfield. She’s the human half of a Therapy Dog Team with her English Cream Golden Retriever, Delilah, at Catholic Medical Center. Lynne is thrilled to be part of the BPC community and to support the ongoing life of the church through marketing and communications in order to enable worship, fellowship, growth, stewardship, church engagement, and local opportunities.
Second, a “Goodbye (for now!)”. . .
As I shared during the worship service on Sunday, July 6, I have been invited to serve as one of the Music Leaders for the Montreat Middle School Conference in Maryville, TN. This is an event a year in the planning and I am excited to join an excellent team of stage leadership for the conference, which ministers to hundreds of middle school students from all over the country (but mostly, the Southeast). I will endeavor to represent you well and bring greetings from the faithful Presbyterians of Bedford, New Hampshire!
You can learn more about the Montreat Middle School Conference, HERE.
I will be away for two Sundays, but am excited to welcome our own Larry Cowen to the pulpit on Sunday, July 13, and my friend, The Reverend Heather Prince Doss, on Sunday, July 20.
While I am away, Michelle Jones and Fran Bader will be coordinating church matters and Andrea Martel, Kevin Avery, and Manny Barreto will be coordinating congregational care matters. I am so thankful for their leadership!
I’ll look forward to seeing you in a few weeks!
Grace and Peace,
John
