This past Monday night, the Session held its regular monthly meeting. In addition to approving a balanced budget for 2026 (which includes salary increases and an increase in Mission funding) the Session also voted to approve a BPC Concert Series.

The Concert Series is being arranged by several members of our Mission Committee for the purpose of opening our building to artists and audiences from across New Hampshire and building community through music-making. Music has a wonderful way of making community – between artist and audience in the shared experience of making, hearing, and responding to music together. As Presbyterians, we believe that the Holy Spirit is a major part of this creative equation.

Community-building concerts can be, in and of themselves, a way to introduce (or reintroduce) church as a safe and creative place for people from all walks of life and we are seeking to make these experiences as welcoming and hospitable as possible to all people.

At this point, there are two concerts in the works, with more concerts on the way to our church calendar in 2026.

On Sunday, December 14 (next week!) at 4 PM, The Hickory Horned Devils will present “A Hickory Horned Christmas!” – $10 Suggested Donation.

In February of 2026 (exact day and time, TBA), we will be welcoming the Jordan Terrell-Wysocki Trio back to BPC.

The Concert Series will be self-sustaining through ticket sales/admission donations. Artists who play for the series will be compensated for their performances through ticket sales – either online or at the door – and any extra funds raised will go into the “General Mission Fund” which is used to help pay for traditional Mission Trips (to Puerto Rico and Mission at the Eastward) and other hands-on experiences that share our love for our neighbors.

We are excited about this new offering and are hopeful that it will be a fruitful venture for our church, our community, and the Arts in New Hampshire.

See you in church!

Grace and Peace,

John
