Happy Friday!

I wanted to let you know about three things this week. . .

First, I went to visit our Music Director, Barbara Flocco, in the hospital after her shoulder replacement surgery.  She was getting ready to be discharged after a successful surgery, but she has a long road toward recovery.  Special thanks for all of your prayers and for a visit from one of our Deacons (and Barb’s piano student), Dr. Scott Crandall.  Prayers for rest, healing, strength, patience, and the faithful following of doctor’s orders!

Second, last week in worship, we announced the death of The Reverend Diana Kirk, one of BPC’s newest members and mother of our own Jennifer Climo.  After several years of declining health, Diana has been fully welcomed into God’s loving embrace.  We give thanks for Diana’s life and will be holding a Service of Witness to the Resurrection on Monday, August 18, at 10 AM in the Sanctuary at Bedford Presbyterian Church.  You can find Diana’s obituary here.

And third, next week, both Michelle Jones and I will be out of the office.  Michelle is on vacation with her family out-of-state and I will be on a “stay-cation” with my family.  Because both of us will be out, the church office will be closed for the week.  I will be checking messages, however, so don’t hesitate to reach out, if needed.

There are several upcoming events that you will want to put on your calendar from the gathering of small groups this Saturday (8/16) to Supplies for Success on (8/24) to our FALL Welcome Sunday (9/7).

See you in church!

Grace and Peace,

John
