As a Pastor, there are times when people will ask me to hold something in confidence and not tell anyone else. There are some things that just do not need to be publicly shared – for a variety of reasons – and I try to respect the knowledge that has been entrusted to me – holding it in my heart and mind and sharing it with God, but no one else.
Last week in worship, I shared that our Neighborhood Support Team and the evacuee family that they have been supporting for the past three years have encountered some complications. One of the very complicated things about this set of complications is that I cannot share very much in a public manner out of respect for the family and some processes that are currently underway. I cannot even share the family’s name in this church newsletter communication, though many of you know it, already.
What I can share is that the family we support and the Neighborhood Support Team who are actively involved in caring for them need our prayers this week and in the weeks to come – prayers for love, clarity, justice, freedom, and peace.
We have some incredibly dedicated people who are working very hard for a good outcome in this situation and if you would like more information on how you can be of support, you can send an e-mail to [email protected].
As I said last week, there is more to be said when the time is right, but for now, please hold our people in the Light of God’s grace.
See you in church. . .
Grace and Peace,
John
